IIT Roorkee researchers have discovered new fossils that show India was home to a variety of sea cows millions of years ago. Sea cows, or Dugongs, are an endangered species of herbivorous marine mammals, which feed on seagrass in shallow coastal waters. ENVIS RP of @moefcc at @wiiofficial1 and @IITRoorkee jointly developed the #DugongDay Poster. Ancient India had four species of #dugongs, the highest anywhere in the world. All ancient species discovered from the Saurashtra and Kutch regions of #Gujarat, India. pic.twitter.com/db99N8T2ktMore Related News
