
IIT Mandi launches start-up exploration programme

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi Catalyst started its 2nd Startup Exploration programme of 2021 with Rajesh Kumar Prajapati, Director, Dept. of Industries, H.P., virtually flagging off the programme. Along with the chief guest, the virtual event was graced by the esteemed presence of Prof. Ajit K. Chaturvedi, Director, IIT Mandi; Samir Shah, Managing Partner, Peak Ventures, and faculty members of IIT Mandi. As many as 23 startup teams including 11 from Himachal Pradesh working in sectors including Waste Management, Agrotech, Healthtech, Enterprise Management, and Cleantech participated in the inaugural session.
Reddit is exploring biometric verification methods such as Face ID and Touch ID to ensure users are real humans, not bots, while pledging to maintain the platform's tradition of anonymity. CEO Steve Huffman said the company is planning to address the rising influence of AI-generated content and protect authentic user engagement.

In a push towards more inclusive school environments, the Central Board of Secondary Education has rolled out fresh directives on menstrual hygiene across its affiliated institutions. The move comes after a landmark ruling by the Supreme Court of India that places menstrual health within the framework of fundamental rights.
