Days after the government gave a go-ahead for the 5G trials in India, misinformation and fake news about the 5G network being linked to the spread of Covid-19, started doing rounds. The Department of Telecommunications had earlier noted that there is no link between the two, as 5G has just been approved for trials and that the testing had not yet started in India. Now, the Haryana Chief Secretary has written to the officials highlighting the damage caused to mobile towers by miscreants.
