Crash Landing On You will have a musical version. Here’s everything you need to know about it.

Crash Landing On You is one of the most successful K-dramas worldwide. The 2019 hit show is now getting a musical version, which was unveiled recently in Seoul. The musical features well-known artists from the TV and theatre industries. Lee Jang-woo and Lim Hye-young are reprising the roles of Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin in the musical version of Crash Landing On You. The actors, during a press conference, mentioned that they do feel the pressure of meeting the expectations of the fans who have loved CLOY globally.

"I was under a lot of pressure. Since Hyun Bin is synonymous with 'Crash Landing on You,' I thought it would be better to express being a modest North Korean man in my own way rather than try to overcome Hyun Bin," Lee Jang-woo was quoted saying.

“It's not that I didn't feel pressured, but that didn't interfere with my work. I thought a lot about the points that could show Yoon Se-ri's inner self in a three-hour journey," Lim said. Since this is a musical, music director Lee Sang-hoon, who has been behind the music for drama series like "Signal" and "Hospital Playlist," was roped in.

The production house is looking at expanding its reach to the overseas market after testing the waters in South Korea first. "It's a love story between a man and a woman that bloomed in our special situation of division, and I think it can appeal to audiences all over the world," the director said. The show became a global success after it premiered on Netflix. Crash Landing On You has been produced under Studio Dragon.

“Crash Landing on You” will run through November 12 at Coex Artium in Seoul, South Korea.
