Renault has announced the ARAI-certified fuel efficiency figures of the new Renault Duster with the more powerful 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine, which comes with both manual and automatic options.
Renault India has announced the ARAI-certified fuel efficiency figures for the new-generation Renault Duster, revealing competitive numbers for its most powerful turbo-petrol variant.
The Duster powered by the 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine delivers 18.45kmpl with the dual-clutch automatic (DCT) and 17.75kmpl with the 6-speed manual, positioning it as one of the more efficient offerings in its segment despite its performance focus.
According to Dr V Vikraman, Chief of Renault Engineering, Renault Group India, the efficiency gains stem from advanced engineering solutions such as low-friction coatings and high-pressure fuel injection, which help optimise combustion. Paired with a fast-shifting DCT gearbox, the setup is designed to balance responsiveness with fuel economy.
The 1.3-litre Turbo TCe 160 engine produces 163bhp and 280 Nm of torque, making it the most powerful iteration of the Duster yet. Renault claims the SUV has been specifically tuned for Indian conditions, with an emphasis on ride quality and handling alongside everyday usability.
The new Duster will be offered exclusively with petrol powertrains in India, ruling out diesel and all-wheel-drive options.
The line-up will include:
