How a Greater Noida official cleaned 30% street waste with simple hacks
India Today
A Greater Noida official's direct approach, including new waste bins and awareness campaigns, is making a visible difference in neighbourhood cleanliness.
In a city that often battles complaints about overflowing bins and scattered litter, one officer decided to step out of his cabin and onto the streets. Gaurav Baghel, an official with the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA), has taken a hands-on approach to improving cleanliness across neighbourhoods and residents say the difference is visible.
Rather than limiting his role to administrative oversight, Baghel began visiting localities personally, observing waste collection gaps and speaking directly with sanitation workers and residents.
What he found was not just a shortage of infrastructure, but a lack of small, practical systems that could prevent garbage from spilling onto the streets in the first place.

One of his most effective interventions has been the introduction of hanging dustbins mounted on boundary walls. In many areas, waste left in open containers would be torn apart by stray animals, leaving roads littered within hours.
In several videos that have gone viral, Baghel is seen visiting different houses personally and asking people about the scattered litter in front of their houses. In a calm tone, he urges the residents to put all the garbage in dustbins.

The profiles of at least three of China's leading nuclear, missile and radar experts were scrubbed from the website of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the country's most prestigious academic body. This comes as a series of purges under Premier Xi Jinping's anti-corruption campaign have decimated the upper echelons of China's military and scientific community.

The aircraft had also been used by senior Iranian officials and military figures for both domestic and international travel, and for coordinating with allied countries, the Israeli military said. Meanwhile, Dubai International Airport has resumed flight operations after a temporary suspension of about seven hours caused by a drone strike near a fuel tank facility.

When we look at Iran through the prism of religion and see a Shia Islamic country, we negate its thousands of years of rich pre-Islamic Persian culture. A dive into the world of Zoroastrianism and Vedas shows us how Indians and Iranians have been sharing languages, Gods, sciences and a sacred fire for thousands of years.
