Honda N7X 7-seater SUV revealed

The new 7-seater concept SUV has been revealed in Indonesia, could be making it to India in the future to rival the new breed of mid-sized 7-seater SUVs.

Honda introduced a concept 7-seater SUV in a virtual event held in Jakarta, Indonesia. Named the N7X which, believe it or not, stands for New 7 Seater eXcitement, the concept was developed as a car that combines an easy driving experience and premium comfort. The concept has been designed and developed by Honda R&D Asia Pacific based on extensive studies from consumers in various countries, including Indonesia, being a big market for 7-seater cars and vans. The country is seeing a shift from 7-seater MPVs to their equivalently sized SUVs, the N7X concept is supposedly a replacement for the BR-V there. The N7X adopts the various advantages of the Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) and Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) to create a 7-seater car for use in varied conditions thus combining premium comfort and space that’s typical of an MPV, with the toughness and style of an SUV. The exterior features a boxy body with sharp lines offering a proper SUV visage and is in-line with the design trends seen in the latest generations of the HR-V and CR-V SUVs. From the limited pictures and information available right now, the lighting seems to be all LED while faux skid plates front and back complete the SUV look. The N7X is touted to share its platform with the current generation of the City sedan thus we can assume that it’ll also share the engine, that being a 1 .5-litre naturally aspirated petrol with manual or CVT gearboxes. No information or pictures are available of the car’s interior but the near-production concept should mean that the latest generation of Honda’s connectivity tech and safety systems should feature in the N7X too.
