
Himachal to introduce Sanskrit language, Vedic mathematics in elementary classes

Himachal Government will be introducing the Sanskrit language, Vedic mathematics in elementary classes.
In what is being termed as the saffronisation of education, the Himachal Pradesh School Education Board (HPSEB) chief Dr Suresh Kumar Soni has kicked off a controversy by saying that the board will introduce the Sanskrit language from Class 3 and Vedic mathematics from 6th standard onwards from the next academic session.
Dr Soni while addressing a press conference in Dharamshala said that Vedic mathematics will be introduced from 6th standard onwards and at least three questions will be asked about the Vedic in each term.
