A 13-year-old girl was gang-raped in Lucknow as she sought shelter from heavy rain on a construction site. The girl was on her way to work at a care home when the incident occurred.
As per reports, the incident occurred on Tuesday evening. A labourer first dragged her inside the building while others stood guard. When she resisted, the accused bound her hands and feet, beat her, and stuffed a cloth in her mouth.
The woman for whom the girl worked initiated a search after she failed to arrive at work on time. Locals, growing suspicious, searched the construction site and found the girl on the third floor.
Following the discovery, local residents caught the accused workers hiding near the rooftop water tank. Police arrived at the scene and took the girl to a hospital for treatment.
Five workers were detained at the site. The accused are residents of Uttar Pradesh's Sitapur district.

One year after the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people, India's counter-terror strategy has undergone a decisive shift with tighter security across Jammu and Kashmir, expanded intelligence coordination, and continued zero-tolerance operations amid fresh threat inputs from Pakistan-based groups.
