Hyderabad Police have registered a case against a hotel operator for allegedly selling stale biryani through a food delivery app. The accused is said to have stored food for days in unhygienic conditions and reheated it before sale.
A case has been registered in Hyderabad after a hotel operator was found allegedly selling stale and unhygienic biryani through an online food delivery platform, police said. The action followed a customer complaint about spoiled food, which triggered an enquiry by authorities.
According to police, the accused, identified as Irfan, prepared biryani at a facility in Jeedimetla and stored around 80 packets in a refrigerator for up to three days.
Officials said the food was later reheated and dispatched to customers who placed orders through a delivery app.
The operation was allegedly being run under the name “Lucky Biryani and Shawarma” from a cellar in an apartment in Banjara Hills. Police said the food prepared elsewhere was brought to this location and supplied to customers via online orders.
During inspection, authorities found the stored food being kept in unhygienic conditions, reportedly in areas infested with rodents.
The complaint surfaced after a customer received spoilt biryani, prompting officials to step in and initiate action.

One year after the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people, India's counter-terror strategy has undergone a decisive shift with tighter security across Jammu and Kashmir, expanded intelligence coordination, and continued zero-tolerance operations amid fresh threat inputs from Pakistan-based groups.
