Foundation stone laid for a ₹260 crore ethanol plant in Nellore, creating 500-700 jobs and boosting local industrial development.
Nellore MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy, Rajya Sabha member Beeda Masthan Rao and Kovur MLA Vemireddy Prashanthi Reddy on Sunday laid the foundation stone for Gayatri Renewable Fuels and Allied Industry at the IFFCO Kisan SEZ in Regadichelika village of Kodavalur mandal in SPSR Nellore district.
The ethanol manufacturing unit is coming up on 28 acres in the SEZ with an investment of ₹260 crore. It is expected to generate employment for 500 to 700 persons, Mr. Prabhakar Reddy said. He described the project as a significant step towards industrial development in the region and noted that the long-cherished aspirations of farmers who parted with their lands nearly three decades ago for the establishment of the IFFCO Kisan SEZ were finally being realised.
Mr. Prabhakar Reddy said he had personally visited the IFFCO office in New Delhi and made repeated representations to IFFCO Chairman Dilip Singhania, urging the promotion of industries in the Regadichelika SEZ. He congratulated the management of Gayatri Renewable Energy for investing ₹260 crore to set up the ethanol plant.
Ms. Prashanthi Reddy said several industrialists were showing interest in establishing units in the IFFCO Kisan SEZ. With the launch of the ethanol plant, a new phase of industrial growth had begun in the Kovur constituency, she added.
