
Final SIR list for poll-bound Kerala out, 9 lakh names dropped

The Election Commission of India published Kerala's final electoral roll after the Special Intensive Revision, removing nearly 9 lakh names and bringing the total voter count to 2.69 crore.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Saturday published the final electoral roll in Kerala following the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise, removing around nine lakh names from the list.
The total number of voters in the state now stands at 2,69,53,644, compared to 2,78,50,855 before the SIR began in October last year. According to data released by the ECI, 8,97,211 voters were removed during the revision process.
In the revised roll, male voters number 1,31,26,048, female voters 1,38,27,319, and third gender voters 227. The number of voters in the 18-19 age group stands at 4,24,518.
The ECI conducted the Special Intensive Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls, with January 1 as the qualifying date, from November 4, 2025 to January 30. Authorities completed the final publication of the electoral rolls on February 21.
Officials said the final roll will be displayed from February 21,at the offices of the Electoral Registration Officers and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers. The updated list is also available on the Chief Electoral Officer’s website.
The Commission said that first-time electors in the 18–19 age group who have not yet received their EPIC cards, as well as existing electors who migrated and applied for corrections, will receive their EPICs through Booth Level Officers at their residential addresses.
