The Government of India is reviewing the implications of the US Supreme Court's ruling that termed President Donald Trump's sweeping tariffs illegal.
The Government of India on Saturday said it is assessing the implications of the recent US Supreme Court judgement on tariffs and the subsequent steps announced by US President Donald Trump.
In a statement, the Ministry of Commerce & Industry said it has taken note of the US Supreme Court’s ruling delivered yesterday. The Ministry also referred to President Trump’s press conference following the judgement, during which he outlined certain steps by the US Administration.
“We have noted the US Supreme Court judgement on tariffs yesterday. President Trump has also addressed a press conference in that regard. Some steps have been announced by the US Administration. We are studying all these developments for their implications,” the Ministry said.
The statement from the government comes after the US Supreme Court termed President Donald Trump's sweeping tariffs "illegal" on Friday.

Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of being "compromised", alleging that the trade deal exposed India to unfair concessions, after US President Donald Trump said the India-US trade deal would remain unchanged despite the court ruling striking down key tariff powers.

These are the questions we put to the publisher, waited for a response, but all that was there was silence.
