The poll body has published the updated voter list for Rajasthan, recording a substantial number of deletions and additions as part of its Special Intensive Revision exercise. The process is part of a nationwide effort to ensure accuracy and inclusivity in electoral rolls.
The Election Commission of India has released the final electoral roll for Rajasthan after completing the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise, deleting nearly 2.5 lakh names to improve accuracy ahead of upcoming elections. The revised list reflects a major clean-up and verification exercise aimed at ensuring that only eligible voters remain on the rolls.
According to the data, a total of 2,42,760 names have been removed since the previous list published on October 27, 2025.
The deletions are part of a large-scale verification drive intended to filter out ineligible or duplicate entries and strengthen the integrity of the electoral process.
Despite the deletions, the total number of registered voters in Rajasthan now stands at 5,15,19,929. The Commission also reported the addition of 10,48,605 new voters compared to the draft roll, attributing the rise to enhanced outreach initiatives and streamlined registration procedures across the state.
The updated roll includes 2,69,57,881 male voters, 2,45,61,486 female voters and 562 transgender voters.
The number of young voters aged between 18 and 20 has increased by 4,35,061 — a growth of 0.82 per cent over the draft list.

Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of being "compromised", alleging that the trade deal exposed India to unfair concessions, after US President Donald Trump said the India-US trade deal would remain unchanged despite the court ruling striking down key tariff powers.

While the police probe into General MM Naravane's book is focussing on an unapproved manuscript being circulated online and copies entering digital markets abroad, the main question remains how it got printed as a book. These are the questions we put to the publisher, waited for a response, but all that was there was silence.
