Elon Musk jokes about smoking weed at next Twitter board meeting, says it is going to be lit

Elon Musk has promised to bring significant improvements. Probably, the coming of the edit button is the start.

Elon Musk seems excited about Twitter’s next board meeting and promises that it is going to be lit. Days after announcing that he was going to be a part of Twitter’s board, Musk tweeted a meme stating he was going to smoke weed at the meeting. Of course, this is a joke. We hope.

Right after Musk was announced as a part of the board, the popular microblogging site announced bringing the much-awaited edit button. It is believed that it is probably Musk behind the introduction of the edit option, which was long avoided by Twitter. In fact, back in 2016, former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey said that the platform may not get the edit button ever. But, tables have turned now and the must-awaited feature is coming very soon.

The microblogging site, however, mentioned that the platform had been working on the edit option for a long time. Even before Musk was onboard as a board member. The edit option is currently under work and will be released for Twitter blue users first. The public release will follow once the option is thoroughly tested, but that may take some time.

The social media platform has various concerns over the edit button. The company believes that they should be careful in rolling out the edit option as some may misuse it to alter posts and misinform people. Twitter is exploring various options, one of which is to show the edit history.

Musk was onboard as a board member of Twitter earlier this week. Welcoming him, CEO Parag Agrawal said that he is “excited to share that we’re appointing @elonmusk to our board! Through conversations with Elon in recent weeks, it became clear to us that he would bring great value to our Board.” Musk has promised to bring significant improvements. Probably, the coming of the edit button is the start.

The Tesla and SpaceX CEO also purchased a 9.2 percent stake in Twitter and that made him the largest shareholder in the company. The move surprised many, as he just previously tweeted complaining about free speech on the platform. He was also seen asking Twitter users if he should launch a new social media platform for users to share their minds. That is when many users suggested Musk buy Twitter. Probably, that’s where Musk got the idea of being a part of Twitter.
