El Paso airport in Texas shut for some time after Mexican cartel drones breach US airspace, flight ops resume
The airspace around the El Paso International Airport in US' Texas remained shut for hours before the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) lifted what was originally supposed to be a 10-day closure. An official from the administration of President Donald Trump, cited by news agency Associated Press, said the airspace over El Paso was closed following the breach of US airspace by multiple drones linked to Mexican cartels.
Providing updates about the situation, US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy informed via social media that the FAA and Defence Department "acted swiftly to address a cartel drone incursion. The threat has been neutralized and there is no danger to commercial travel in the region".
This is a developing story. It will be updated.

Meanwhile, Dubai International Airport has resumed flight operations after a temporary suspension of about seven hours caused by a drone strike near a fuel tank facility.
