GBA Chief Commissioner sets July deadline for Bengaluru's Ejipura Flyover completion, urging increased manpower and expedited work.
Bengaluru’s long-pending Ejipura Flyover has been given a firm deadline, with the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) Chief Commissioner M. Maheshwar Rao directing the contractor to complete the entire project by the end of July.
During an inspection of development works in the GBA limits on Friday, Mr. Rao reviewed the progress of the flyover and expressed dissatisfaction over the slow pace. He instructed the contractor to use additional machinery and manpower and to carry out multiple components of the project simultaneously to avoid further delays.
Mr. Rao argued that nearly three weeks had passed since issues related to the installation of pillars near St. John’s were resolved, yet piling work had begun only recently.
The Chief Commissioner ordered that piling be completed within 15 days and that pile cap and pillar construction proceed alongside piling, and superstructure segment casting be taken up parallelly to speed up the execution. The contractor was told to prepare for round-the-clock work to meet the July deadline.
