NABARD’s PLCP for Dharmapuri released

NABARD projects ₹19,382.81 crore credit potential for Dharmapuri in 2026-27, emphasizing agriculture and MSME growth.
The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has projected a credit potential of ₹19,382.81 crorefor Dharmapuri district for the financial year 2026-27. This projection for 2025-26 is 8.3% over the current year’s Annual Credit Plan (ACP) of ₹17,896.32 crore.
The sector-wise credit projections entailed ₹13,648.91 crore for agriculture which was 70% of total projection; ₹3182.91 crore for MSME sector which was 17% of the outlay; and ₹2,271.56 crore for other priority areas which was 13% of the outlay.
Earlier, the Potential-Linked-Credit Plan document was released by Collector R. Satheesh, here at the Collectorate in presence of S. Ramajeyam, LDM, Thiru Rajagopal, Deputy Director, Department of Agriculture, Thiru Karunanithi, credit mentor from DIC and representative from Regulated Market Committee.
The PLP for Dharmapuri has been prepared in consultation with government officials, banks, and other stakeholders, aligning with state level and national priorities, according to NABARD.
According to K.K. Narmadha, District Development Manager, NABARD Dharmapuri, the PLP reflects the Centre’s priorities to scale up lending to priority sectors, aiming to boost economic growth in the district. This will help structure branch-level credit plans which will be developed to finalise the district credit plan for 2026-27. Ms. Narmadha encouraged banks to leverage the PLP document to achieve their targets effectively.
The potential for FY 2026-27 has been projected with 11% increase over the previous year, taking into account of Tamil Nadu’s $3 trillion vision, changing landscapes in agriculture, animal husbandry, fisheries, climate change and the MSME sectors.
