IND vs NZ: Suryakumar Yadav poked fun at Sanju Samson as the Indian team arrived in Thiruvananthapuram ahead of the final game of the T20I series against New Zealand.
Despite all the pressure that has been surrounding Sanju Samson, it was all smiles for the Indian team, who arrived in Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday, January 29, ahead of their final T20I against New Zealand. The Indian captain, Suryakumar Yadav, was seen having a cheeky jibe at the hometown hero at the airport.
In a video that has gone viral on X (formerly known as Twitter), Suryakumar Yadav can be seen asking the people around to give way for their arrival in a joking manner. He said," Please give way, do not disturb chetta (big brother in Malayalam)." As the Indian captain said this, Sanju could be seen having a smile on his face as he made his arrival.

Over the years in his international career, Samson has been a part of the squad during their previous outings in Thiruvananthapuram. But he has never had the chance to play in front of his home fans in India colours. This would be a big moment in his career and could be the perfect way to turn around his concerns regarding form as they go into the T20 World Cup following this series.
Since reclaiming his spot at the top of the order from Shubman Gill, Samson has not been able to get at least a half-century. Barring two instances, he has also been unable to make it past the power play as well.
The good news is that there have been indications that he could be finding his form, especially in the previous fixture in Visakhapatnam, where he hit 24 in 15 balls. Although he did not get the start he wanted, it remains a positive sign going into the final game of the series.
