DMK allocates a Rajya Sabha seat to DMDK, marking the party's first representation in the Upper House.
The DMK on Tuesday evening (March 3, 2026) allotted one Rajya Sabha seat to Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) led by Premallatha Vijayakant.
For the first time, the party started by late actor Vijayakant is set to get a representation in the Upper House, despite not having a single legislator in the current Legislative Assembly.
L.K. Sudeesh, the treasurer of the party, received the agreement on behalf of his party at the DMK headquarters, Anna Arivalayam.
