India Today
Virat Kohli's Instagram account disappeared on Friday, triggering speculation online as fans flooded Anushka Sharma's comment sections seeking clarity on the cricketer's sudden absence from the platform.
Instagram went quiet, and Indian cricket fans knew something was wrong. Virat Kohli may not be at the crease right now, but his absence from Instagram has left fans on edge.
Virat Kohli’s verified Instagram account, followed by over 270 million users, suddenly disappeared from the platform on January 30, leaving followers both baffled and buzzing online.
Kohli's Instagram account, long a hub for cricketing updates, personal moments and collaborative brand promotions, stopped appearing in searches early on Friday morning, with users instead greeted by the familiar message: “Profile isn’t available.”
There has been no official explanation from Kohli, his team or Instagram on whether the disappearance is intentional, temporary or the result of a technical glitch.
Adding to the mystery, Virat Kohli’s brother, Vikas Kohli’s Instagram account has also not been appearing in searches since Friday morning. Users attempting to access his profile were met with the same “profile isn’t available” message. Screengrab from Viratr Kohli Instagram
On social media, reactions ranged from concern to comic disbelief. Some fans took to Instagram and X to ask Kohli’s wife, Anushka Sharma, “Bhaabhi, bhaiya ka account kahan gaya?”, roughly translating to “Where has brother’s account gone?”, flooding her comment sections with pleas for clarity.
