India Today
Producer Bhushan Kumar responded to allegations suggesting that Arijit Singh was compelled to perform Ghar Kab Aaoge in Border 2. The singer recently opened up about the multiple reasons behind his departure from playback singing.
Producer Bhushan Kumar has addressed recent speculation regarding Arijit Singh's exit from playback singing. He specifically denied rumours that the singer was forced to record the song Ghar Kab Aaoge for the upcoming film Border 2.
The claims surfaced after Singh announced his decision to step away from playback singing. Some social media users quickly associated his retirement with his involvement in the new version of the iconic patriotic track originally featured in the 1997 film Border.
In an interview with HT City, Kumar said, "Please call and ask Arijit, it’s all rubbish."
The new edition of Sandese Aate Hai, titled Ghar Kab Aaoge, brings together several artists, including Arijit Singh, Sonu Nigam, Roop Kumar Rathore, Vishal Mishra, and Diljit Dosanjh.
Singh, 38, recently provided further clarity on his decision to leave playback singing, noting that it was not triggered by a single event.
In a statement posted to his private X profile, he shared, "There isn’t just one reason for this; there are multiple factors, and I have been contemplating this for quite some time. Ultimately, I have mustered the necessary courage (sic)." Singh indicated that his departure was a gradual process rather than a response to any particular incident.
