In this week's Fashion Friday, we revisit some of the most remarkable looks pulled off by Indian divas at Met Gala.
The countdown for the Met Gala, also called the fashion’s biggest night, has begun. An array of celebrities, dressed in head-turning outfits, will walk the red carpet on May 2 in New York City and present their interpretation of this year’s theme - In America: An Anthology of Fashion.
The fashion extravaganza will be hosted by Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Regina King and Lin-Manuel Miranda this year. Several Indian celebrities such as Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra have graced the Met Gala red carpet in the past. PRIYANKA CHOPRA
Priyanka Chopra has walked the Met Gala red carpet several times in the most attention-grabbing ensembles. However, it was truly a noteworthy moment when she clad herself in a regal deep-burgundy velvet gown for Met Gala 2018 and accessorised it with a bejewelled headgear.
Her shimmery eye makeup, retro hairstyle and bold-hued lipstick perfectly complemented the ensemble.
DEEPIKA PADUKONE
In 2019, Deepika Padukone channeled her inner Barbie and attended the Met Gala in a voluminous pink gown from the label Zac Posen. The strapless gown with sculpted details was an instant head-turner. Deepika further upped her look with a dramatic and voluminous high ponytail accentuated with a statement headband. She also nailed the beauty game with deep burgundy lips and glamorous eye makeup featuring pink and purple accents.
