
Cyberabad Municipal Commissioner inspects STP sites at Neknampur, Chitrapuri, Khajaguda Lake, and Mushkin Cheruvu

Cyberabad Municipal Commissioner reviews lake rejuvenation and sewage treatment progress, urging faster execution and improved coordination among officials.
Cyberabad Municipal Commissioner along with the managing director of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) and senior officials conducted a field inspection across multiple locations on Wednesday, to assess the progress of sewage treatment and lake rejuvenation works.
The team inspected proposed the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) sites at Neknampur, Chitrapuri, Khajaguda Lake, and Mushkin Cheruvu. Officials reviewed feasibility aspects, planning status and timelines for execution, with focus on strengthening sewage management systems and preventing pollution of water bodies.
As part of the visit, progress under the Strategic Nala Development Programme (SNDP) was also reviewed at Pandenvaagu in Manikonda. The Commissioner directed officials to accelerate the pace of work, adhere to timelines and ensure quality standards are maintained at every stage of execution. Further inspections were carried out at Mulkam Cheruvu and additional STP locations around Khajaguda Lake.
During the review, the Commissioner issued a series of directions, including expediting ongoing works through close monitoring, improving coordination between departments and ensuring accountability among field teams. Immediate steps were also ordered to arrest leakages at Khajaguda Lake and to ensure that STPs are completed and made functional within stipulated timelines.
