Former Maoist leader Devuji returns to his native Telangana after 44 years underground, receiving a warm hometown welcome.
After more than four decades, former Maoist leader Tippiri Thirupati alias Devuji visited his native Korutla town in Jagtial district, Telangana, on Wednesday (April 8, 2026).
The former top-ranking Maoist leader, Thirupati, had spent nearly 44 years underground before returning to the mainstream in February this year. According to sources, he arrived in his native town to a heartwarming welcome by his childhood associates and relatives on Wednesday evening.
He had a brief interaction with the local residents and old associates. Some senior citizens mingled with him affectionately, recalling the memories from yesteryears.
