Delhi court defers defamation case hearing filed by Sandeep Dikshit against Atishi and Sanjay Singh to February 19.
New Delhi
A Delhi court on Thursday deferred the hearing of a defamation case filed by Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit against Delhi Chief Minister Atishi and AAP MP Sanjay Singh to February 19.
The hearing, which was earlier scheduled for Thursday, was deferred after the counsel for the AAP leaders sought more time to argue on the cognisance of the complaint.
Mr. Dikshit claimed that Ms. Atishi and Mr. Singh had alleged that he accepted money from the BJP to sabotage AAP’s chances of winning in the Assembly election. He has sought ₹10 crore in damages for the harm caused to his reputation.
On January 16, the court had issued a notice to the AAP leaders on the complaint of Mr. Dikshit, who has contested against AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal in the New Delhi constituency in the Assembly poll.
