Moderate to heavy rainfall lashed several parts of Hyderabad on the evening of Tuesday (March 24, 2026) offering much-needed relief from the intense heat that prevailed through the afternoon. Several localities also reported hailstorms along with the rain.
Areas including Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, Ameerpet, Begumpet, Secunderabad, Nacharam and AS Rao Nagar witnessed steady showers, leading to a sudden change in weather conditions across the city.
The unexpected rain caught many commuters unprepared, as a large number of people were without umbrellas or rain gear. With little warning, several commuters were seen taking shelter at bus stops, metro stations and other public spaces to escape the downpour.

The highlight of every edition of the Whitefield Art Collective is the Kala Car, an exhibit that showcases the creative and artistic prowess of art students. Over the years, this clever play on words has titled vehicles that have either been rescued from the scrap yard or sponsored or auctioned or all of the above.
