Class 10 kids hold booze farewell party in Telangana; inquiry ordered after photos go viral

Images of Class 10 students in a Telangana government-run residential school consuming alcohol inside the campus have gone viral. The students had sought permission to host a farewell and ended up getting alcohol from their friends outside. An inquiry has been ordered.
Pictures of school students in a government-run residential school in Telangana’s Mancherial district have gone viral. The incident was reported at the BC boys residential school in Dandepally, where Class 10 students were photographed consuming beer during a farewell party.
The Class 10 students wanted to organise a farewell party at the hostel.
According to development officer, Bhagavathi, “The students had sought permission from the hostel warden to hold a farewell party before the commencement of their summer vacation. But in the hostel room, the students had consumed alcohol.”
The party was organised on April 17 and liquor was supplied to the students in the hostel from outside, by their friends who were staying in the village.
However, a few overjoyed students posted pictures of their party on social media, which soon went viral and caught the attention of officials too. The district administration has ordered an inquiry into the incident.
