The students of classes 1 to 8 in Odisha will be promoted to their higher classes without the conduction of final exams this academic year, said Odisha School and Mass Education Minister SR Dash on Saturday, March 13. The students of these junior classes are being promoted to their higher class without the conduction of exams as the schools have remained close for them for one whole year now due to the rapid spread of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country. Due to the recent surge in Covid-19 cases, the government of Odisha has decided not to reopen the schools for students of classes 1 to 8 and continue the conduction of online classes for them. Physical classes for these students will most likely start in the new academic session.
