City corporations threaten FIR and suspension for staff who skip mandatory Census duty training from April 6-8.
Five city corporations under the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) have warned of strict action against staff who fail to attend duties related to the National Census-2027 (House Listing and door-to-door Census), scheduled to be conducted from April 16 to May 15.
Training for the Census staff will be held from April 6 to April 8 across all five corporations. GBA has assigned 3,651 supervisors and 21,480 enumerators within its jurisdiction.
Corporation Commissioners said an FIR will be registered for failure to comply with official orders. Absentee staff will also face suspension and departmental action on grounds of misconduct and insubordination. They added that attendance at the training is mandatory for all those who have been assigned Census work. Non-compliance will attract disciplinary action, they warned.
Unauthorised absence, they said, will be treated as no work, no pay, and a break in service.
