Rangayana distributes 250 application forms for Chinnara Mela, a summer camp for children, on a first-come, first-served basis.
Theatre repertory Rangayana gave away 250 application forms for its annual summer camp ‘Chinnara Mela’ on the Kalamandira premises in the city on Sunday (April 5).
The Chinnara Mela is scheduled to be held from April 14 to May 10 for children aged between seven and 17.
The application forms, priced at ₹100, were issued on a “first-come first-serve” basis, and only one application form was given to each person. The fee for this year’s Chinnara Mela has been fixed at ₹4,000.
All the application forms for Chinnara Mela were collected by childrens’ parents, who had lined up on the Kalamandira premises on Sunday (April 5) morning. Rangayana had announced the date of distribution of its application forms only three days ago.
Rangayana director Satish Tipatur said the children of Mysuru had many options nowadays in view of the summer camps organised by different artists and agencies in several parts of the city.
Rangayana’s Chinnara Mela will be “theatre-centric”, but also include programmes that will ensure that the present generation of children will “connect” with whatever they are missing out on owing to the technological advances in the world.
