The administration of Chandigarh has decided to shut down the schools and colleges across the union territory till March 31 in view of the sudden spike in Covid-19 cases. This measure has been taken for the safety of the students and staff of educational institutes. Though schools have been closed for students till March 31 to control the Covid-19 situation, all teaching and non-teaching staff will be coming to the institutions during this time. All proper Covid-19 safety measures will be taken during this time. Since Covid-19 cases in Chandigarh are on a rise in the last few days, the administration has taken the decision to conduct the exams for students of classes 3 to 8 online this year. In a notification, it was stated that the exam will be conducted as per the schedule and is not being postponed further.
