The central region on Sunday recorded 4,525 fresh cases of COVID-19. A total of 47 deaths were reported in the region, with seven of the eight districts reporting at least one death caused by the viral infection. Tiruchi reported the highest number of deaths with 15 patients succumbing to the viral infection. Karur was next with nine casualties, while Ariyalur reported seven deaths. Five deaths were recorded in Pudukottai, four each in Nagapattinam and Thanjavur and three in Perambalur district.More Related News
