
Candidates see neck-and-neck fight in UP panchayat elections

Counting of votes is underway for the UP panchayat elections and candidates are witnessing a neck-and-neck battle.
The counting of tri-level panchayat elections in Uttar Pradesh is underway in two shifts on all 826 blocks in 75 districts. The UP panchayat election has been a tough fight for many candidates. The first result in the morning came from the Chandauli district. Om Prakash Singh, a candidate from Ishul village under Chakia block in Chandauli district won the election by just two votes. He pulled 470 votes while his rival Chandan got 468 votes. Bhiwu Singh, the rival candidate for the post of Pradhan from Garhwa Semraur village of Chakia, won with 242 votes.More Related News
