A Canadian woman’s misplaced AirPods left social media users glued to their screens after she revealed that they were still being tracked across the world after she accidentally left them on a flight.
Claire Hanna, who is a journalist by profession, shared her bizarre experience in a post on X, explaining that she had left her AirPods on an Air Canada flight AC890 from Toronto to Rome while travelling to cover the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympics.
In her post, she wrote that the earbuds had “fallen under the seat” and she did not realise the loss until after passing through customs.
She claimed that the airline staff attempted to help locate the missing device.
“The Air Canada desk called the plane to search for them and said they couldn’t find them,” she mentioned, adding, “Now I’m tracking them around the world.”
Screenshots shared alongside the post appeared to show the AirPods’ location shifting between Rome’s Fiumicino Airport and Montral-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport, suggesting the earbuds may still be travelling aboard aircraft or moving through airline systems.

The world is facing an energy crisis as Iran blocked supplies passing through the Strait of Hormuz after strikes by the US and Israel. Vital subsea cables that carry global internet traffic also pass through Hormuz. Any damage to them could trigger internet outages and hit financial systems across countries, including in India.

Images of pre-Islamic Zoroastrian kings and warriors have been unveiled in Iran, evoking courage and resilience. Many say the Ayatollah regime in Iran revives the country's Persian identity during conflicts with Israel and the US. But this Persian heritage has always run deep, and is visible from time to time, in both dissent and unity.
