Campaigning for the Telangana Municipal Polls-2026 concluded, with elections set for February 13, 2026
The campaign by political parties for the Telangana Municipal Polls-2026 came to an end at 5 p.m. on Monday (February 9, 2026), two days ahead of the elections — to be held on Wednesday (February 13, 2026).
Telangana State Election Commission said that no person shall convene, hold, attend, join or address any public meeting or procession in connection with an election. They should not display or propagate any election matter to the public.
The Elections will be held in seven Municipal Corporation and 116 Municipalities. Congress, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AMIMIM) were the major parties which pitched their candidates and traded barbs with other parties.
Counting of votes will be taken up on February 13. After oath administration for elected Ward Members, indirect elections for Mayor/Chairperson or Deputy Mayor/Vice Chairperson posts will be held on February 16.

Ahead of the initial proceedings of the Global Big Cat Summit set to be held in Bandipur and Nagarahole between February 9 and 13, the Nagarahole Adivasi Jamma Paale Hakku Sthapana Samithi (NAJHSS), a federation of gram sabhas in Nagarahole forests, have alleged that the International Big Cat Alliance (IBCA) is a facade to further occupy indigenous lands and intensify their exploitation.
