Butter chicken ice cream exists and the internet is absolutely not ready for it

A new viral video featuring butter chicken ice cream has left the internet gagging in disgust while drawing attention to the creator's history of unusual culinary experiments.

Some recipes are comforting, some are creative, and then there are the ones that make the internet collectively say, “Absolutely not.” Butter chicken ice cream falls squarely into that category.

The unusual recipe was shared by content creator Juliette Moreno, who appears to have taken one of India’s most beloved dishes, butter chicken, and decided it needed a frozen dessert makeover.

In the video, Moreno cheerfully walks viewers through her recipe, suggesting it’s a great way to use leftover butter chicken. She begins by scooping a large portion of the curry into a bowl before adding heavy cream, condensed milk and sugar. The entire mixture is then blended until, as she explains, the chicken pieces become completely smooth.

“Just mix butter chicken, heavy cream, condensed milk and sugar. Blend it all together so the chicken chunks become completely smooth,” she says while preparing the concoction.

Once blended, the mixture is frozen overnight and later churned in an ice cream maker. The final result? A bowl of creamy, orange-tinted ice cream that, at least according to Moreno, is surprisingly delicious. After scooping two servings into a bowl, she tastes it and declares, “I definitely think this is my new favourite ice cream.”
