DOHA: Birla Public School announced its outstanding victory at the Qatar Collegiate Programming Contest (QCPC) 2025, hosted by Carnegie Mellon University, Qatar.
Outshining 85 competing teams from across Qatar, the Birla Public School team—comprised of Raj Dave (Grade 12A) and Muhammed Rayan (Grade 12K)—secured the first position, earning gold medals, the championship trophy, and a cash prize of QR5,000.
This prestigious annual event brings together the brightest minds from high schools and universities across Qatar who are passionate about computing and problem-solving. Participants competed in teams designing computer-based solutions to real-life problems using high-level programming languages such as C, C++, Java, and Python.
The QCPC is widely recognized as the National Gateway Contest, with top-performing teams qualifying to represent Qatar at the Arab Collegiate Programming Contest (ACPC. With this historic win, Birlites now takes on the honour of representing Qatar as part of the National Team at the Arab Collegiate Programming Contest (ACPC) in Egypt later this year. The winning team was mentored by Biswajit Mishra and Arshi Habiba whose focused coaching, problem-solving sessions, and mock contests played a pivotal role in preparing the students to excel under pressure.
In addition to the champions, eleven other teams from Birla Public School participated in the competition, showcasing exceptional coding skills and innovative thinking; notably, all eleven teams secured positions within the top 20.
