Bengaluru hospital goofs up, hands over wrong body to Covid victim's family

A hospital in Bengaluru handover over the wrong body to the family of a Covid victim, which led to an altercation.

A hospital in Bengaluru allegedly handed over the wrong body of a Covid-19 patient to the family. After 68-year-old Jayalakshmamma died, her family received a call from Rajarajeswari Medical College and Hospital on Sunday evening. On Monday the family members reached the hospital. Family members said they were given the death certificate and the patient's body - wrapped in a PPE kit. The patient's son couldn't make it to the hospital and wanted to see their mother. When family members tried to click a photo they realised it was not Jayalakshmamma's body. As per reports, Ramu, a relative of Jayalakshmamma said, "We reached the hospital around 8 am and went to the mortuary where the body was stored. Since it was a Covid case, the body was wrapped in a PPE kit. Jayalakshmamma’s sons could not come, but they wanted us to see her once. We went to take the photo only to find that it was not her body."
