Bengali actor Subhashree Ganguly and her young son Yuvaan are stuck in Dubai amid rising tension following Iranian attacks in the region. Her family hopes for their safe return.
Bengali actor Subhashree Ganguly and her young son Yuvaan are currently stranded in Dubai amid escalating tensions in the region following reported Iranian attacks, her family confirmed on Sunday.
Subhashree had travelled to Dubai with her son for a vacation, and reached the city on Saturday. The situation reportedly worsened soon after, leading local authorities to issue advisories asking residents to remain indoors in certain areas.
Her husband, filmmaker and Trinamool Congress MLA Raj Chakraborty, said the actor and their son are staying at a hotel in Palm Jumeirah. Speaking to PTI, he expressed concern over their safety, especially as Yuvaan is travelling with her.
“They reached Dubai on Saturday for a vacation. Since then, the situation has become complicated. Because Yuvaan is with her, the concern is even greater. They are staying in Palm Jumeirah. There was an explosion reported near their hotel, and authorities have advised people not to step out of their homes,” Chakraborty said.
He added that friends and relatives based in Dubai are assisting Subhashree and Yuvaan. “Our friends and relatives there are taking care of them. We are worried, but not panicked,” he said.
