A West Bengal Police team reached a residential society in Noida to arrest an accused in the viral fake chats case involving TMC MP Mahua Moitra, executing a non-bailable warrant issued by a Nadia court. However, despite conducting a raid and searches, the accused was not found.
A police team from West Bengal reached a high-rise apartment complex in Noida in connection with the viral fake chats case involving Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra and political strategist Prashant Kishor, only to return empty-handed.
On February 5, Moitra shared a list of handles on X that she said were sharing and spreading “fabricated news,” while warning others of criminal action for doing the same.
The Trinamool MP further informed that an FIR had been filed against a few handles, sharing their pictures, after her alleged private chats with Kishor went viral.
According to Noida Police, the West Bengal cops sprang into action and arrived at the Lotus Panache Society on Tuesday to arrest one of the accused, Surajit Dasgupta, in execution of a non-bailable warrant (NBW) issued by the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Court in West Bengal's Nadia.
Following the arrival of the West Bengal Police, the Phase-2 police station team swung into action. The Sector-110 outpost in-charge, along with a team, reached the residential society and gathered complete details of the accused’s tower and flat.
The Station House Officer also reached the spot with police personnel and conducted a raid at Dasgupta’s flat. However, he was not found there.

India on Monday said it has not held bilateral talks with the United States on deploying naval vessels to secure merchant shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. The clarification came after US President Donald Trump urged countries to send warships to keep the strategic waterway open amid tensions with Iran.
