Assam Minister visits family of Pahalgam attack victim, hands over ₹5 lakh cheque and condolences from Chief Minister.
Bimal Borah, Minister for Industries and Commerce of Assam, on Sunday, visited the family members of Manjunath Rao, a resident of Shivamogga, who died in the Pahalgam terrorist attack, and handed over a cheque of ₹5 lakh to Rao’s wife Pallavi R.
The Minister also handed over a letter written by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, expressing his condolences for the loss of life.
In his letter, the Chief Minister had said that the entire State of Assam would stand with the family of Manjunath Rao in the hour of grief. “No words can truly ease the pain, and no amount of assistance can ever compensate for the irreperable loss,” he stated. The Chief Minister had announced the ex-gratia amount from the CM’s relief fund.
Ms. Pallavi and her son received the cheque. Leaders of the BJP, including MLC D.S. Arun, district BJP president N.K. Jagadish, and others, were present on the occasion.
Manjunath Rao went to Kashmir with his wife Pallavi and son. He was killed during the terrorist attack at Pahalgam on April 22.
