YSRCP files police complaint against TDP for provocative banners targeting leaders over the Tirumala laddu controversy in Visakhapatnam.
After several flex banners appeared within the IV Town police station limits in the city targeting the YSRCP leaders over the Tirumala laddu controversy, the party has lodged a complaint with the police, accusing the TDP of putting up the banners.
In the complaint, YSRCP leaders, led by party Visakhapatnam district president K.K. Raju, said the banners carried false and provocative messages claiming that animal fat was used in the preparation of Tirumala laddu prasadam.
The YSRCP leaders alleged that the NDA leaders were resorting to diversionary tactics through attacks and false cases to shift public attention from key issues, including the SIT charge sheet on the Tirumala laddu controversy and the alleged irregularities in the regularisation of GITAM land.
Speaking to the media outside the IV Town police station, the party leaders demanded the immediate removal of the banners, alleging that they were installed late at night with the intention to incite religious hatred. They urged the police to take legal action against those responsible.
Mr. K.K. Raju said the SIT charge sheet had clearly established that neither animal fat nor fish oil was used in the ghee for the Tirumala laddu, contrary to allegations made by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. He alleged that after the SIT report exposed the truth, NDA leaders resorted to attacks on the houses of those who said that no animal fat was used in the laddu.
Meanwhile, former MLA A. Adeepraj submitted a complaint with the Pendurthi police, accusing the NDA leaders of provoking communal tension and disrupting public order. He accused the TDP leaders of instigating TDP cadre to resort to violence whenever questions were raised.

Apparently sending a message of optimism, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, who is eyeing the chief ministerial post, on Monday made a loaded statement on the floor of the Legislative Assembly, saying “Politics is the art of the possible, and I believe that one man with courage makes a majority”.
