Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit Puducherry for government programmes on February 11. Home Minister A. Namassivayam, Speaker R. Selvam, BJP president V. P. Ramalingam on Monday evening carried out an inspection of probable venues for the event at Lawspet.
Recently, while speaking at a government event, Chief Minister N. Rangasamy had indicated that a visit by the Prime Minister to Puducherry was likely. He had said that the Prime Minister would make certain announcements on government schemes in Puducherry.

Apparently sending a message of optimism, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, who is eyeing the chief ministerial post, on Monday made a loaded statement on the floor of the Legislative Assembly, saying “Politics is the art of the possible, and I believe that one man with courage makes a majority”.
