An aspiring actor who became a producer: Nagesh Kogilu’s unique journey

The producer of the upcoming film ‘Takkar’, Nagesh Kogilu, has had a rather interesting journey in films. Nagesh had earlier produced the film Huliraya in 2017 and has come to be recognised as a promising producer since then. Now, his next flick ‘Takkar’ is ready for release and is creating a lot of curiosity in Sandalwood. But what’s actually intriguing is Nagesh’s own story. Nagesh comes from an agricultural family in Yelahanka, but he always wanted to become an actor. He even played a small part in the film ‘Nam Areal Ondina’, but never got any acting offers after that. A dejected Nagesh went back home and became a farmer, but his passion to make films never faded. The next time he stepped into a set, it was not as an actor but as a producer for ‘Huliraya’. His next film since that outing is ‘Takkar’, which has been produced by Nagesh under the SLN Creations banner. ‘Takkar’ stars Darshan’s close relative Manoj, which is why the Challenging Star’s fans are eagerly awaiting the film. Television star Ranjani Raghavan plays Manoj’s leading lady. ‘Takkar’ has been directed by Raghu Shastry while the music of the film has been scored by Manikanth Kadri. The film is gearing up to hit screens in April.
