In an exclusive conversation with IndiaToday.in, Aditi Rao Hydari talked about her fondness for Mani Ratnam and cheered for his upcoming period drama, Ponniyin Selvan Part 1. The film is set to release on September 30.

Aditi Rao Hydari is known to be Mani Ratnam's blue-eyed girl. The actress and the ace filmmaker have previously worked together in two movies Kaatru Veliyidai (2017) and Chekka Chivantha Vaanam (2018). A true fan of Mani Ratnam, Aditi has often regarded the director as her mentor. In a recent interview with IndiaToday.in, the Ajeeb Daastaans actress was all praise for her mentor's upcoming film Ponniyin Selvan: I (PS-I).

PS-I is a historical fiction film directed and co-produced by Mani Ratnam under his production studio Madras Talkies. It stars an ensemble cast which includes Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Jayaram and Sobhita Dhulipala among others. Recently, the makers revealed the first look of the actors and took the Internet by storm. Ponniyin Selvan is one of the hugely anticipated films of the director. An admirer of Mani Ratnam's films, Aditi couldn't help but talk about his upcoming period drama. She said, "PS-I is an epic film which is coming out soon. It has a very huge cast, I am not in it, but I am at the front of the cheerleaders, I am going to be there, and I am looking forward to watching it myself."

Does Aditi have any films lined up with the Bombay director? The actress quickly responded, "Right now no, but I love Mani sir and I know a lot of people say this, but I can say that whatever blessings I’ve got that I got to work with him, I hope that continues. And, I hope I can keep working with him. I became an actress because I wanted to be a Mani Ratnam heroine. So I hope that I get the opportunity to do many many more films with him. I love working with him."

Currently, Aditi Rao Hydari is basking in the success of her recently released film, Hey Sinamika. It received great reviews and is running well at the box office. Apart from Aditi, the film also featured Dulquer Salmaan and Kajal Agarwal in lead roles.
