Actor Vishnu Manchu worships at ancient Lord Shiva temple in Utukur village, accompanied by Kannappa film team.
Actor Vishnu Manchu worshipped at the ancient temple of Lord Shiva, at Utukur village in Rajampeta mandal in Annamayya district on Saturday. He was accompanied by the team of Kannappa, a film starring him in the lead role and scheduled for release on April 25.
The temple priests received him with traditional honours amid the chanting of Vedic hymns and guided him to perform special pujas to the presiding deity. The actor also worshipped the idols of Baktha Kannappa and Lord Hanuman in the complex.
Speaking to the media, Mr. Vishnu said that he was happy to worship at the temple in Utukur, the birthplace of Baktha Kannappa, Shiva’s ardent devotee in the backdrop of the Srikalahasti temple legend. “I performed the lead role of Kannappa with staunch devotion. I seek the blessings of the audience for our team,” he said.
The villagers of Utukur and surrounding villages thronged the temple to see the actor and took selfies with him. Speaking to the villagers, the actor said that he will contribute to the development of the Utukur temple shortly. Former chairman of Srikalahasateeswara Swamy Vari Devasthanam, Kola Anand, was also present.

Although students from Tamil Nadu remain the leading recipients of educational loans across India, there has been a significant decline in the number of active loans they hold. The number of active education loan accounts decreased from 27.4 lakh accounts to about 20.1 lakh in the period. The fall can be mostly attributed to the fall in Tamil Nadu’s numbers.
