Aap to India se honge? Ramiz Raja snaps at Indian scribe after being asked about Pakistan's Asia Cup defeat

PCB chief Ramiz Raja, who was present at the Dubai International Stadium to watch the final, lost his cool during an interaction with an Indian journalist after Pakistan lost the summit clash to Sri Lanka.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja lost his cool to an Indian journalist outside the Dubai Stadium on Sunday, September 11, after the Babar Azam-led side lost to Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup 2022 final. Ramiz lost his cool after the Indian scribe asked him about the disappointment of the public in Pakistan after the Men in Green lost the Asia Cup 2022 final.

The Indian journalist asked, "The people of Pakistan are very sad. What message would you give them?”

The PCB chief replied saying, "Aap India se honge? Aap to bade khush honge? (Are you from India? You must be very happy then?)”.

After that, Raja was also seen snatching the scribe's mobile phone, who asked the question. However, the PCB chief returned it right away and left the arena. The Indian journalist then shared the video of the incident on Twitter, asking if he asked the wrong question. He even mentioned that Raja, being the president of a national cricket board, should not have taken the phone. Ramiz's reaction has attracted a lot of flak on social media for his behaviour.

Pakistan lost the Asia Cup 2022 final despite winning the toss in the summit clash as Sri Lanka clinched the Asia Cup for the sixth time on Sunday after Bhanuka Rajapaksa's batting masterclass and Wanindu Hasaranga's all-round brilliance secured their 23-run victory against Pakistan in the final. Pakistan captain Babar Azam rued mistakes in the batting and fielding department after their loss against Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup Final.

"Congratulations to Sri Lanka for playing outstanding cricket. We dominated them for the first eight overs, but the partnership that Rajapaska got was amazing," Babar said after the match.
