In an exclusive interview with IndiaToday.in, Nandita Mehra revealed the reason behind shooting Aadha Ishq in Kashmir. Here's what she said.
Director Nandita Mehra, who has helmed projects like Uttaran and Pavitra Rishta, is coming back with her new project. She has directed Aadha Ishq featuring Aamna Sharif and Kunal Roy Kapur. Ahead of the web show's release on May 12, IndiaToday.in exclusively interacted with Nandita. In a conversation with IndiaToday.in, Director Nandita Mehra has revealed why she wanted to shoot the series in Kashmir and also mentioned that she wanted 'Adhoora Ishq' as the title for the series.
In Nandita's opinion, romance and Kashmir are the best combination for a shoot. And that's the reason she insisted on shooting Aadha Ishq in a picturesque location.
Elaborating on the same, she said, "Every project teaches you something. At least, I learn something from every project because there is something new that you experience every time you do a project. I was very scared because it was my decision to shoot in Mussoorie and Kashmir. I had a lot of people telling me 'dekh lo Kashmir mein shoot nahi karte, let's pick some other city'. But I insisted on Kashmir because romance and Kashmir are the best combination. That was the one reason I wanted to shoot in Kashmir."
Further, we asked Nandita about her definition of Aadha Ishq and pat came her response, "According to me, the meaning of Aadha Ishq is explained in the song. When the title Aadha Ishq was suggested, I initially preferred 'Adhoora Ishq' to Aadha Ishq. But the more we lived with it, the more I realised that Aadha was absolutely bang on. For me, it is not Aadha, it is tera aur mera milke pura. Aadha tera aur aadha mera - that's how love is complete. That is the meaning which I feel is apt for the title. And that is the meaning which I asked the lyricist to put in the song."
Aadha Ishq will premiere on May 12, 2022, on Voot Select.
