7 in cop net as Jammu Police busts 3 Pak terror modules

The Jammu Police arrested seven suspected terrorists after it busted three Pakistani terror modules.

The Jammu Police has cracked down on three Lashkar terror modules, arresting seven suspects so far. More arrests are likely to be effected soon.

Additional DGP, Jammu Zone, Mukesh Singh, told Aaj Tak: “The terrorists were tasked with targeting members of the minority community in Jammu & Kashmir and political leaders.”

He said that this was nothing but a Pakistani plot to revive terrorism in Jammu. “It’s a desperate bid by Pakistan to revive terrorism in hilly areas of the Jammu region. The terrorists got weapons through drones from Pakistan. As many as 14 sorties were made by Pakistani drones to these modules,” Singh said.

Meanwhile, the NIA, with the assistance of state police and paramilitary personnel, carried out the raids in Kashmir on Wednesday as part of a follow-up investigation the agency is conducting after the recovery of 15 pistols in Kashmir’s Chanapora on May 23. Police said that militants were planning to carry out hits using the weapons.
